Community Outreach Program
We firmly believe that programmes that impact our people at all levels – from the formative years of life and into adulthood – are essential to the development of workforce and preparing for the future of tomorrow. Our employees are encouraged to embody our culture of entrepreneurship and to aspire to leave a lasting impact on the lives they touch on a day to day basis. In leading that charge and searching for ways to impact our environs, we have worked hand-in-hand with our employees to identify and execute initiatives that impact the community at large.
The company has created our Adopt-a-School program, as though our primary business focus is on impacting those individuals within the work force, of great importance is reaching those individuals who exhibit great need during their most formative years, transforming their environment through increased collaboration with educational institutions, and providing opportunities to transform interactions within the home and the community at large.
The Adopt-a-School programme is tailored specifically for the school and the needs that are present, however, the core of the programme revolves around a nutrition programme that provides healthy meals (breakfast & lunch) for the students while at school.
The programme also covers key engagement activities that seek to involve and impact all members of the community who also interact with the school. So far we have covered the following:
1.Debt Relief Programme
– Covering the outstanding balances on the school’s feeding programme that prevented the student from accessing meals as a result of the parent being unable to pay. Balances were paid off for those single mothers with high debt for the school meals.
Impact:
The results being that we cleared up the debt for those parents, lifting the financial burden from the parent. Cash injection for the school.
2.School Meals Programme
– We consulted with the school on their ideal menu for breakfast and lunch and worked with food distributors to secure a wholesale rates for the groceries, purchased and delivered these supplies to the school on a monthly basis for the preparation of meals at the school.
Impact:
a) There was no breakfast being served at the school prior and this saw students turning up to school without a nutritious meal at the start of the day. Students are now able to receive a hearty meal in preparation for a long day of focused learning.
b) Students whose parents were not able to afford meals would not send them to school. Attendance has increased, now that the school is equipped and capable of providing meals for all students.
c) Improved engagement between the community and school, knowing that the school is making an effort to positively impact the students.
3.Co-Sponsored Christmas Programme:
– We consulted with the school on their ideal menu for breakfast and lunch and worked with food distributors to secure a wholesale rates for the groceries, purchased and delivered these supplies to the school on a monthly basis for the preparation of meals at the school.
a) Provided each child in the school a quality Christmas gift
b) Provided refreshments for the Christmas programme.
c) Participated in the festivities alongside the staff at the school
Impact:
Happy Children, staff felt fulfilled having executed a successful Christmas event. Parents were appreciative of the fact effort and impact of the programme and the community at large.

The overall effects of the Adopt-A-School programme has been positive to date, with great reviews from all stakeholders involved. Our intention is to identify other schools that are in need of the support and collaborate on tailoring our blueprint to satisfy their unique needs.
