Holidays can affect your payroll in a variety of ways. Perhaps one of the most obvious ways is that employers are required by Jamaican law to pay their employees at a premium. Another impact holidays can have is getting your employees paid on time.

Holidays affect your payroll because they are also bank holidays. This means that the banks are not open for operations and transfers will not be completed on that day. Hence, if your payroll falls on that date, not having proper preparations in place can cause your employees to be paid late. It is important therefore to properly prepare for bank holidays to avoid mishaps.
